Google Pixel owners are reporting faster battery drain

Following the June update, some Google Pixel owners are reporting faster battery depletion.

It appears that the June update is generating a new wave of battery drain problems for certain users. Pixel phones have an awful pattern forming when it comes to updates causing issues with battery life.

Hundreds of Google Pixel owners have commented on a Reddit thread from last week, many of whom have noted that the June 2023 update is making their devices' batteries drain more quickly than usual.
Some of those impacted say their batteries start to run low by the afternoon and need to be charged several times a day. Although the battery life on Google's Pixel phones has never been very outstanding, the current situation is undoubtedly unacceptable. Even while left idle, the phones appear to be draining significantly more quickly.
Additionally, the problem is making phones run hotter than usual. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series of devices appear to be the most affected by the issue.

The problem doesn't seem to be widespread—some users even report benefits after the update—but it's also not an isolated incident. Some people have also reported signal problems after the update.

The good news is that a patch might be implemented sooner rather than later in this case. A potential remedy might be available in one week from today since Google typically releases new updates on the first Monday of each month. Nevertheless, given that the June update was over two weeks late, it is reasonable to assume that the July update will also be late.
